GEIST is a research group that includes [[pub:about_us:|number of senior and postdocoral researchers]] as well as PhD and master students.
The work of the group is coordinated by [[pub:about_us:gjn|Grzegorz J. Nalepa]].
GEIST researchers mostly work at the [[https://www.uj.edu.pl/|Jagiellonian University (UJ.edu.pl)]] as well as the [[https://www.agh.edu.pl/|AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH.edu.pl)]] in Kraków, Poland. 

The group is active in the general area of **intelligent systems**.
We work in Explainable AI (XAI), Knowledge and Software Engineering (KE/SE), Semantic Web Technologies (SemWeb), Business Intelligence (BI), Ambient Intelligence (AmI), Affective Computing (AfC), and Human-Machine Interaction (HCI/HMI) -> see the group's **[[pub:research:|research profile]]**.
